TEAGAN LA’SHAY
ACTRESS. SINGER. DANCER
“She tackles the role with just the right amount of, well, everything.”
ABOUT ME
Teagan is an actress, singer, and dancer born and raised in Connecticut.
Her passion for acting began at Naugatuck Valley where she made her musical debut in Next to Normal for which she received the "Outstanding Musical Theatre Performer" award for her role as Natalie. There she received her Associate of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts.
Teagan also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Western Connecticut State University. During her studies, she had the honor of training with notable industry professionals such as John Hickok (OBC AIDA, OBC Little Women, OBC Parade) Elizabeth Parkinson (Tony Nominee Movin’ Out Broadway), MaryAnn Lamb (Seussical Broadway, Chicago Broadway) Scott Wise (Tony Winner for Jerome Robbins’ Broadway), Jeremy Powell (Wicked West End, Motown West End), Ann Gerschefski (Wicked Broadway, Aladdin Broadway, Mean Girls Broadway) and Jen Turey (New York City Rockettes). While in Academia Teagan earned herself a KCACTF Irene Ryan Nomination for her role as Celeste in the original devised piece Organizing in the Time of Covid directed by Chris Bolan (A Secret Love Netflix). She also received the “Theatre Arts Musical Theatre Award” for her detail and dedication to her craft while in higher education.
Teagan made her professional debut understudying the Leading Player in Pippin at Playhouse on Park. She also had the privilege to be part of Goodspeed Opera House's Festival of New Works where she played Reatha in Little Miss Perfect written by ASCAP winner Joriah Kwamé and directed by Broadway director Zhailon Levingston. She has since made her equity debut leading as Jo in The Legend of Georgia McBride at Music Theatre of Connecticut!
When not on stage she can be found befriending stray cats, debating New Yorkers on whose pizza is better (psst! It’s CT!), and long-distance running.
